Meet Christopher Threatt 

Christopher Threatt is a native of Akron, Ohio. As a teenager, his family relocated to Americus, Georgia, where he graduated from Sumter County High School in 1988. He received a Presidential Scholarship to attend Alabama State University in Montgomery, Alabama, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Criminal Justice in 1993. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.


Christopher began his preaching ministry in 1996 at the Lewis Street Church of Christ in Little Rock, Arkansas. During his time there, he taught high school and adult Bible classes and also served as interim minister for the congregation in Menifee, Arkansas. He currently serves as minister and education director of the Johnson Street Church of Christ in Benton, Arkansas.


Christopher and his wife, Dionne, have been married for 33 years and coordinate the congregation’s marriage couples ministry. They are the proud parents of two adult daughters, Jasmine and Brittney.


In addition to his ministry work, Christopher has devoted 32 years to education in the Little Rock School District. During his career, he has taught at Central, McClellan, and Southwest High Schools and currently serves as English Department chairperson at Southwest High School.



Christopher has spoken at lectureships and men’s programs throughout Arkansas, Texas, and New England. Passionate about preaching, teaching, strengthening families, and serving the community, he is honored to serve on the BTBD Board of Directors.
